Martha Mintun Captures Special Wedding Moments on Video

Who can describe the feeling of a wedding? The radiant glow of a bride, the sweet embrace of a father hugging his “little girl” before an admiring group of family and friends, or the exuberant smiles on the faces of a newly-married couple as they walk arm-in-arm down the aisle.

More than images, these are the events in a couples' life that occur just once, and the artistry of a skilled videographer can bring them to life again and again. Videographer Martha Mintun and her daughter, Marian of Video Creations by Martha, not only bring their artistry, but their sensitivity, relaxed style and a sense of humor to their work.

“Every couple wants their wedding day to be special, a day they will always remember,” says Mintun. “It's an event in their lives that will never happen again. They are bringing their closest family members and friends together so they can celebrate with the people they care about the most.”

Through videography, Mintun creates a living history of treasured moments by following the couple every step of the way. “I look for moments that will tell the story of the couple's life together.” “We're also watching for important people in the couple's life…like a grandma talking with a bride or friend who is moved to tears as the couple recites their vows.”

The Mintuns' work is unique due to the perspective they brings to the couple's special occasion. “There are a lot of people who use special effects where they aren't needed, Martha Mintun comments, and she cautions couples to choose their videographer carefully. “Some people hire a cameraperson that documents an event,” she says. “I see things differently. I capture a wedding through a woman's eyes,”

“Anyone can videotape a big event,” Mintun adds. “I want to capture the couple's story by spending time with them so I can see what they are about, and understand who they are.”

Mintun offers three wedding packages. The Simplicity, starting at $2,600, includes six hours of wedding day coverage, four DVDs and complimentary taping of the wedding rehearsal. At $2,800, the Plus package features highlights of the wedding set to musical selections chosen by the couple, including the best scenes from the rehearsal through the reception. The Deluxe Plus package offers a custom photo montage set to the couples' musical selection. Artistic close-ups of flowers, table settings, food, cake and other details the couple may not have had time (or wherewithal) to notice are included in the DVD. Often couples select photos of one another that were taken during their childhood years. Mintun can incorporate those photos into a video presentation that can be shown during the wedding rehearsal dinner or reception.

Couples enjoy unlimited moral support before, during and after their wedding day with Video Creations by Martha. As Mintun comments, many couples have called her years later to video their anniversary or renewal of vows.
